Spanish market Sponsors

SFJS is proud to be a sponsor of the annual Spanish Market. Hosted by the Spanish Colonial Arts Society, the Spanish Market celebrated the work of local artists in 21 CATEGORIES including weaving, tinwork, ironwork, pottery, books (new in 2022) and, of course, jewelry. Some of these hand made works could inspire your own jewelry designs while other categories may simply cause you to marvel at their beauty and craftsmanship.

We are also very proud to serve talented customers who won awards this year!

Jewelry plays a large part in traditional New Mexico artwork and the Spanish Market is a great destination to learn about the cultural heritage that makes Santa Fe such a unique marketplace. But it’s also an opportunity to learn about the techniques that the artists use to create their jewelry. Find out the significance behind the ubiquitous turquoise ornamentation found on so much of the local art here, or learn how sand casting creates one-of-a-kind pieces by destroying their molds in the process of creation. Events like this provide great opportunities to ask questions that enrich the understanding of art-making and inspire the mastery of new techniques. Perhaps you could be an award winner next year!
