Description
Variscite Cabochons. Variscite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral that is usually green in color, ranging from yellowish to bluish green. Variscite is often found in the same geographic areas as turquoise, which may cause it to be incorrectly identified. This rare collection of cabochons are originally from Iran (where Persian turquoise occurs).
In the U.S., variscite is found in Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. It is also found in Iran, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Poland, and Spain. It is best used as a pendant, in earrings, in pins, or in other items that will not be subjected to impact or abrasion.
