Hematine Cabochons Round

Hematine is an affordable simulant of hematite, often called magnetic hematite.  Manufactured from iron ore with the same chemical makeup as natural hematite, hematine has properties similar to hematite, e.g., a hardness between 5 and 6.5.  Hematine is also brittle, so if used as a ring stone, employ protective settings to shield them from bumps and scratches.
