Description
Round Faceted Rhodolite Garnets. The word “garnet” comes from the 14th century Middle English word gernet, meaning “dark red.” The word is derived from Latin granatum, which means “seed,” and is called so because of the gemstone’s resemblance to the beautiful red seeds of the pomegranate. Rhodolite garnets tend toward rose to purplish red.
Natural rhodolites are typically “eye-clean”, which means they’re free from inclusions or flaws that can be seen with the naked eye. The clarity and natural color are what makes rhodolite one of the most valuable varieties of garnet.
