Basic Stone Setting – July 22-26th 2019
This class is a prerequisite for Advanced Stone Setting
This class focuses on safe techniques used in prong setting. These techniques will help you avoid breakage or damage to your gems and lead you to successful stone setting. You will learn to set a wide variety of shapes and sizes of gems stones safely and securely. Tube and bezel setting will also be included during this week. On the first morning of class there will be an extensive lecture covering the selection and purchasing of gem stones, stone setting terminology, and proper take-in procedures involving future clients. Working with faceted gem stones is an exciting arrival in a jewelry making career. You will receive instruction that will give you confidence and help you make informed decisions regarding gem purchases and mounting choices.
