Art

Although the Santa Fe Indian Market is now 100, it doesn’t take long to realize that the art it showcases feels young, vibrant and new. The jewelry on display hits the viewer with bold patterns, polished designs, and an overall modern feel. It’s a far cry from what you’d find sold on the plaza on a typical Saturday morning. These artists are among the best artists, selected from around the nation—and it shows. Whether jewelry is your calling or merely your avocation, the Santa Fe Indian Market is an event you can’t afford to miss. For a list of Artist Booths by Name, check out the official SWAIA Map.

Food

The Indian Market is, as its name suggests, a market but it’s also a festival. So don’t forget to arrive with an empty stomach ready for Navajo fry bread, roasted ears of corn, Hawaiian shaved ice and, of course, green chile stew. Once you’re full of green chile and fry bread, escape the heat at a showing of one of the native films showcased by the festival. This is just a taste of the many fun-filled offerings that Indian Market has on display. For a full list of all the events, check out their Full Schedule.

Previews

If you only have time for the highlights, check out the sneak preview at the Santa Fe Convention Center. It’ll set you back $75 but in exchange, you can peruse a curated selection of the award-winning pieces—the highlights of an already exceptional field—in the comfort of a less crowded, indoor space.
