Meet Alden Hoskie

Meet Alden Hoskie

You could meet Alden on one of the many running trails in town—or under the portal as you peruse the jewelry at the Palace of the Governors—or you just might meet Alden right here at SFJS.

Alden, an accomplished silversmith, learned his art as a teenager from his mother, Francis Begay.  He credits her with instilling a strong work ethic and respect for developing his skill.  He says his art has helped him “navigate life’s rough spots and transitions.”  As a Navajo, he approaches his work prayerfully, grateful for the opportunity to share his work with the people he meets on the Plaza.

As part of the Portal Program, Alden guarantees the authenticity of his materials, just as we do at SFJS.
