Long ago in the Land of Enchantment, from the high Santa Fe desert, the wind called us home. Two native New Mexican sisters reunited and embarked on a 30 year journey that would change their lives and the lives of many others. The founders of SFJS, then mere pups, prioritized family over corporate life and aspired to bring a much needed service to a small community teaming with talented artists. Thus Santa Fe Jewelers Supply (SFJS) was born.

Stephanie, whose brainchild was SFJS, brought years of industry experience and a rock hound’s love for gems that culminated in a GIA Gemologist Certification. Steve, our machinist turned petroleum land man turned entrepreneur became the mainstay of our Santa Fe showroom, and fondly known as the Tool Doctor. Kristin hails from UNM School of Business. Together the three had a vision to return to their roots and support local artisans, offering much needed supplies close to the Pueblos and local studios while providing unparalleled customer service and a genuine interest in their success.

SFJS began in an old, 1300 square foot adobe building in the summer of 1987. It was Santa Fe Indian Market time and Santa Fe was aflutter with excitement. Kristin, Stephanie and Steve were the only employees.  They had customers from their opening day and never looked back. Silver sold for about $7.00 per troy ounce back then.

Fast forward 36 years and our home is in a shiny 6000+ square foot building in southern Santa Fe with a showroom, online sales and shipping facility, as well as warehouse space for tools and inventory. Kristin and Steve were co-owners, and CEO and CFO for 33 years. Sadly, Steve left us in 2020 to be with Our Creator and we miss him dearly!  Stephanie continues as our Gemologist and Stones Purchasing Manager.  We now employ 8 individuals, who add their own flavor and years of industry experience to our family-oriented team.

We offer a vast selection of jewelry making supplies: precious and base metals, jewelry findings, jewelers’ tools, gemstone beads, cabochons, faceted stones, precision tools and safety supplies, including many American made products from the best manufacturers.  We also specialize in items with a unique Southwestern flair.  Additional areas of expertise include equipment servicing, precious metals recovery and custom casting.
